Fresh Lemon

Rihaala opens up the world for Muslim millennials, curating holidays that make room for faith. Halal dining, prayer spaces, and private, alcohol-free retreats are part of every trip.

At Fresh Lemon, I led the web design for Rihaala. Working alongside the client and an external development agency, I crafted a flexible design system that captures Rihaala's invitation to explore.

Colourful compass

The name Rihaala means ‘journey’ in Arabic, and this word became the compass of the design language.

Brands for this audience tend to share visual cues, so Rihaala leads instead with travel and the people booking it. Bright, modern, and inclusive, it's made to inspire wanderlust and discovery.

Colours are drawn from destinations: deep, tranquil blues of island lagoons, mist of ocean waves, soft twilight hues of urban dusk, and the warm glow of golden hour sunsets.

Visual voyage

The website design needed to work within the development agency's existing component system. It was an interesting challenge to find room for Rihaala's personality inside a fixed structure. I delivered a detailed set of guidelines, atoms and components with states defined, and mockups of each screen.

Destination cards move the way travel does, layering immersive images with colour blocks that rise and fall across the page like waves. The icon set borrows from passport stamps and postcards, so the website collects a trip the way a traveller does. The result is a journey that starts before you've booked it.
